Since October 2011, I have been posting articles titled “Memories of Figure Names” on Facebook group “Ballroom & Latin Dancer Memory Lane”. I decided to leave those articles on this HP for record.

“Memories of Figure Names No.29 Bombshell”
I learned about this beautiful figure from a VHS “BALLROOM COMPETITION FIGURES” (Alex Moore Letter Service) that I ordered from England a long time ago.
Of course, this figure does not appear in the Standard Textbook, but despite the fact that many dancers use it in their routines and it is introduced it in this video, I do not understand why Geoffrey Hearn did not include it in the “A Technique of Advanced Standard Ballroom Figures” that he published later in life.
Therefore, as far as I know, the booklet that was attached to the VHS is the only material that explains this figure in written words.

「フィガー名の思い出29 ボムシェル」
私がこの意表を突くこの美しいフィガーを知ったのは、その昔、英国から取り寄せたビデオ「BALLROOM COMPETITION FIGURES」(Alex Moore Letter Service)からでした。
当然ながらこのフィガーはスタンダードの教本には出ていませんが、多くのダンサーたちが彼らのルーティンの中で愛用し、かつ、ジェフリー・ハーン氏がこのビデオで解説をしているにも関わらず、彼が後年に書き上げた「A Technique of Advanced Standard Ballroom Figures」にも含まれていないことが不思議でなりません。
従って、私が知る限り、このフィガーを文字として開設しているのは、この「BALLROOM COMPETITION FIGURES」付属の小冊子のみです。
