Since October 2011, I have been posting articles titled “Memories of Figure Names” on Facebook group “Ballroom & Latin Dancer Memory Lane”. I decided to leave those articles on this HP for record.

I agonized over this for a long time. But in 1994 I was lucky enough to see the then World Champions, John Wood & Anne Lewis, explain how to dance it on a TV programme. I think I am also very lucky that I recorded that programme .

「テキストにはリバース・ウェイブがあるのに、なぜナチュラル・ウェイブはないのだろう？ そもそもナチュラル・ウェイブは存在しないのだろうか？」
と長いこと悶々としていましたが、1994年NHKのレッツ・ダンスの中で、当時の世界チャンピオンのジョン・ウッド&アン・ルイス組がナチュラル・ウェイブの踊り方を説明しているのを見て、「ラッキー！」と思ったことを覚えています。その番組を録画しておいて本当に良かったと思っています。
フェイスブックの投稿では書きませんでしたが、ジョンは、
「ナチュラル・ターンの3歩をオーバーターンし、男性が左足からイン・ラインで3歩後退するこの3歩がナチュラル・ウェイブ」 ―― と紹介していました。
