Have any of you men ever had the experience of losing your balance when your patent shoes got caught while dancing? I have, many times (OMG).
In fact, Bill Irvine explains in this video clip that the Feather Step was accidentally born. How nice and what a relief! I remember his story every time I do the Feather Step, and every time my shoes get caught.(LOL)

男性の皆さんには、フェザー・ステップでエナメルの靴が引っかかってバランスを崩した経験はありませんか？ 私は何度もあります（笑）。
実は、初期のフォックストロットではロック・ステップを使っていたようなのですが、フランク・フォード（Frank Ford）という人がそれをしようとしたときに靴がひっかかり、とっさに右足をアウトサイドにステップしたのがきっかけで、フェザー・ステップが生まれた、と言うことをビル・アービン氏が語っています。
私はフェザー・ステップをするたびに、そして、エナメルの靴が引っかかるたびに彼の話を思い出します。
