“Memories of Figure Names No.13 Zig-Zag (Part 1)”

When studying the quickstep figure ‘Zig-Zag – Back Lock – Running Finish’ from the technique book “Revised Technique”  I remember very well that I was not very happy with this figure name. It was because I thought there wasn’t a “Zig-Zag” in there. I strained my eyes and I could barely see “Zig” but no “Zag” (I have very bad eyesight).

Fortunately, I found the full “Zig-Zag” explanation in my favourite book “Ballroom Dancing” (Alex Moore), and my stress was quickly disappeared.

However and unfortunately, the Zig-Zag itself is no more included in modern technique books. So for those who are, like me at the time, wondering “Where’s the Zig-Zag?”, I would like to share the pages from the “Ballroom Dancing” hoping they would help clear up your doubt.
